A woman has shared a life-saving hack for when you cut wrapping paper too short and it’s too small to fit your gift.
We’ve all been there – you’re trying to wrap up a present when you realise the piece of paper you’ve cut is way too small, and you’re forced to cut some more.
Thankfully, there’s a trick that will put an end to all of that unnecessary waste and frustration.
Tracie Garrett has built an impressive following on her TikTok @BeeandBlooms with her helpful tutorials on how to wrap tricky presents.
In a recent video, she received a comment from a user who asked: “What do you do if you get halfway through wrapping and realize the paper is too small?”
When she tried to fold the gift wrap over the box lengthwise and crosswise and neither option fully covered it, she turned it diagonally.
She then took the top and folded it over the box, and did the same with the bottom section, making sure to tape it down.
After folding the remaining two sides in, the present was securely wrapped.
Since being posted, the video has racked up almost 500,000 likes and 1,400 comments from viewers who couldn’t believe they’d only just discovered the hack.
One person said: “So you’re telling me I wasted a ton of paper for nothing?”
Another wrote: “This would have been helpful like 10 minutes ago.”
A third commented: “There’s no way it’s been this easy this entire time.”
While someone else admitted: “I take a piece of paper that matched and put it under the open spot and wrap it over.”
